Cuba diet

After reading the article on Cuba Diet the idea of turning the entire country into a big farming place seemed impossible and i have never heard of such thing. But the article made it seem like the process was very easy and made me think why can't we turn our life style around so that we don't rely so much on other countries. But when we went down to the farming area south of UW i realized it's not that easy to turn the entire coutnry around. If it takes UW that long or are just limited to such a little space for farming it must have been a huge deal. I also realized that it doesn't take just couple of years to turn our life styles around. I'm hoping by participating to some farming will help me realize this more.
