As we discussed the Michael Pollan's book as a group, we talked about how maybe what we talk about in class is directed too much one side of food. It is bad that the food we eat are not labeled if it has been modified and to some people just wrong. It is altering the natural state of what is natural and God given to us. But we have forgotten in class why they were modified in the first place. Some food are not modified just because it can be. Its to make it last longer, easy to digest for some, and convenience for some. These are only some of the reasons to why it's not all bad and it got me to think, if it was all that bad for us why have we not been affected by it and if it was that bad for people, would they really have modified things? But i do strongly believe that people have the right to choose the food that they know what is has gone through. With the economy getting bad for everyone, it is going to be hard and harder to eat organic and locally grown vegetables because it's just too expensive.
I was just reading an article on a Korean search engine and one of the top issues raised was about food. Food concern is all around the world and this particular reason was because the President has allowed import of American beef knowing that there may be risks of Mad Cow Disease. There was riots and disappointment by the people and just seeing the whole nation outraged about what they eat is a start for carefully choosing what we eat.

These are some of the pictures of the citizens rioting and the army is protecting the people from the police from what they want to say and also the harsh hosing of water.
